(Please refer the previous page) If you click “Setup” Enter the default password “admin” or the password designated by previous setup to enter the utility. Enter to user interface, since you need at least one formatted disk volume to save all the settings, please click “Yes”.

Disk mode selection
Single Disk Volume: Each drive will be formatted individually. (1 drive only)
Linear Mode: The 2 drives capacities are added to form a large single volume (need at least 2 drives)
RAID0 Mode: Striping mode, the data are spread evenly across two drives. This mode yields the best system performance. The usable capacity will be the capacity of “the smaller drive of the two” times 2. To avoid wasting storage space, two identical drives are recommended. (need 2 or 4 drives)
RAID1 Mode: Mirror mode, data are duplicated in each drive. This mode provides data protection in case one drive failed, no data are lost. The usable capacity is the capacity of smaller drive of the two. To avoid wasting storage space, two identical drives are recommended. (need at least 2 drives)

The control panel gives you a familiar interface to work with. By clicking the “Home” icon will let you to logout, Power-off or Reboot the system. “Single click” on the icon can execute the designate function. For users with DHCP server turned on in the router (which is most of the cases), the DHCP box can be checked and select “Obtain DNS server address automatically”. In this case, each time when the system boots, an IP address is assigned to the system depending on the IP availability. For some users who prefer fixed IP address, just type in the IP address for this machine (make sure the IP address does not conflict with other devices in the same network system). The DNS server can be set “Automatically” or usually type in the router IP address. If there is additional drive needs to be formatted, please click on “Disk & Volume” tab.

Group is a class of users with the same access right. The purpose of creating group is to simplify users’ management. First to create group “dragon” for example. Then add/delete user(s) into the group.

Shared Folder Management
Create folders so multiple can access it to share data. This page allows user to specify the share name and shared path. Assign users/groups to the shared folder and specify the access rights to that folder. Just click “Save” to make it effective.
